Wagon Hunt

This is my husband Russell and he is on the hunt for a smaller wagon for Pearl since the big red hitch wagon is gone. A mounted patrol instructor who uses drafts as police mounts picked it up this morning after driving to Hebbertsburg, Tn from Ohio. He is with R&M Drafty Acres Belgians and I saw pics of their belgian stud horse. VERY IMPRESSIVE!! His name is Gary Myers contact number is 1- 330-620-0438 Very nice officer and his father had that wagon strapped down in no time! He was interested in my Fancy Farm Harness with the reflective webbing overlay for everyday working so he could keep his bio show harness for special events. I think Pearl was glad to see that heavy wagon go on down the road!

Red Roberts Hitch Wagon

The wagon is being picked up by a gentleman from Akron, Ohio tomorrow so it can be used in a 6 up Belgian hitch. Hope they send us some pics! Just starting Pearls new "moonglow" cart harness using a really cool bioplastic I call Glow Bio. It absorbs light and glows in the dark for 8 hrs! I love using modern materials making vintage look harness that has a night visibility safety feature built right in! I am presently using reflective webbing overlays which is very effective in increasing night driving and riding visibility. This is a major concern in our community cos we have horses on the road a lot.

critter carrier

J. Charles Inc in Lamont, Fl designed this to carry calves in from the field. You can email him at johncharlesinc@aol.com and visit his website www. yoursewingservice.com . This could have so many applications it is unreal!! Deer, hog and bear hunters would love it and on the other side of the spectrum it could be a valuable tool in animal rescue. He is calling it Mr. Calf'ee (patent pending) and my old dog Jezebel was very comfortable in it! She would have really loved it the day she followed our 4-wheelers around the old mail route and wore her pads down ! She loves to ride in trucks but won't get on an ATV to save her life.

Pearl is dragging the stoneboat across the pasture poo to scatter it so my husband doesn't have to pick it up by hand! This is also a good thing to keep her in condition on a weekly basis and helps to keep us on the same page when she is hitched to a carriage. We didn't make the Crossville, TN Christmas Parade this last year but we will be there with bells on next Christmas. Also want to do the Dayton, Tn Parade as it is ALL horsedrawn ( no motorized entries at all!). They have clowns following the procession with wheelbarrows and shovels and the clown with the biggest load wins a prize! Pretty Cool Parade!

Pearl the Percheron

My cousin Linda calls Pearl the Miss america of draft horses. Pearl doesn't care what she calls her as long as it is to the fence for an apple! She is the darling of Hebbertsburg Harness Shop and all my "burg" friends and family dote on her.

I hitched Pearl to the wagon today after taking the edge off her on the stoneboat and she was flawless! Never could have guessed she hadn't pulled a wagon in 2 years. My cousin Linda calls her the Miss America of draft horses and she sure looks it here! She came to me from Mr. Richard Carey of R C Farrier Service in Cookeville, Tn and he certainly did a good job with her!! Next harness for her will be a Fancy Buggy Harness to pull the cart when she takes me on the Hebbertsburg Cemetary Tour to visit my old ancesters . Percheron power Rocks!
